about me

Callie Young is an indie folk-pop artist from Southwest Colorado, now based in Nashville, TN.  In addition to her solo artist project, Callie is a member of “The Garrett Young Collective,” an alternative rock band she formed with her brother. In 2019, the band was chosen to perform with “The Voice” Season 15 winner, Chevel Shepherd, opening for acts including Little Big Town and Brothers Osborne. Preceding her move to Nashville, the band opened for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and the Bellamy Brothers. Currently working on upcoming releases, Callie blends her folk and country influences with her love for the experimentation and artistic freedom of indie pop. She isn’t afraid of being completely vulnerable in her lyrics and takes pride in showing the raw and real emotion she pulls from real life experiences. Callie’s recently released single “falling either way” is the first of many lined up for release in the new year!

Singer/songwriter Callie Young releases her new single, falling either way. It concentrates on the topic of vulnerability and uncertainty in romance. Young expresses anxiety about falling in love with someone who may not share her feelings. She’s literally caught in a state of emotional free-fall. falling either way has an energy that’s totally giving me Noah Kahan and Lizzy McAlpine vibes. But there’s also a little nod to Swift’s early emotional songwriting style in there too. The vocals you’re hearing are from the original demo Young recorded the night this song was written. Pretty rad, right?” - Lefuturewave
